Yuletide Tree Gift Program
Beginning Christmas 2008, Wonser Woods will join hundreds of other participating tree farms to offer our customers a chance to participate in the first Yuletide Tree Gift Program. The Yuletide Gift Program is aimed at promoting sales of real trees while benefiting everyone involved.
What is the Yuletide Tree Gift Program?
Yuletide is a for-profit organization set up for the sole purpose of implementing the Tree Gift Program. Here's how it works:
Thousands of gift cards are distributed to tree farmers to be handed out to their customers free of charge, who in turn provide them to their customers. The gift cards offer discount coupons from as many as 39 well known national retail stores. On the retail level, the cards are hung on each tree to promote sales.
Who Benefits from the program?
- The farmer and retailer benefit by adding value to the products they sell at no additional cost.
- The end user will have hundreds of dollars in potential discounts to help put gifts under their Real Tree.
- The Christmas Spirit Foundation will receive ½ cent per card distributed.
- The Salvation Army will receive 2 ½ cents for each card distributed.
- The National Christmas Tree Association will receive ½ cent for every card distributed.
- Each state organization receives 2 ½ cents for cards distributed in that state.
- The industry benefits from the promotion of Real Trees.
Who Pays for the Program?
The cards are paid for by the 39 retail outlets that will consider it part of their advertising budget. The money is paid to Yuletide, who uses part of that money to produce and make the initial distribution of the cards.
How do I participate?
Anyone who buys trees from Wonser Woods, LLC will be entitled to receive one discount card for each tree purchased. The cards should then be hung on the trees on your lot to give your customers added incentive to buy trees from you.
